Nagpur, August 10, 2025 — Prime Minister Narendra Modi today flagged off the Ajni (Nagpur) to Pune Vande Bharat Express, marking a significant upgrade in train travel between the two major cities of Maharashtra. The launch is part of Indian Railways’ push to expand semi-high-speed services, offering faster and more comfortable travel for passengers.
The Nagpur–Pune Vande Bharat Express is a semi-high-speed train designed for speed, comfort, and efficiency. It features AC Chair Car and Executive Chair Car coaches, automatic doors, bio-vacuum toilets, onboard Wi-Fi, and modern infotainment systems. The train will operate six days a week, excluding Mondays (Ajni to Pune) and Tuesdays (Pune to Ajni).
Major Stops: Wardha, Badnera, Akola, Shegaon, Bhusaval, Jalgaon, Manmad, Kopargaon, Ahmednagar, Daund Chord Line.
